Rosa Muerta is a minimalist retreat space just outside of Joshua Tree, constructed by Robert Stone. With sleek + fanciful details in all black interior space, the property consists of a bedroom, bathroom, living room, + kitchen that seem to blend into one another within a very sleek and chic open plan. Other details like wrought iron fences that twist their way into roses, a heart shaped window in a cinder block wall, + a low-lying ceiling covered in mirrors helps to create a world that seems to be half Mies Van Der Rohe + half Jack Kerouac + who does not love that! While this rental space may not be the ideal dwelling spot for your average person vacationing in the high-California dessert, it none the less has a very “diamond in the rough” sort of appeal in its desert backdrop. -PJAX
